Thank you for posting this. It's very true--we carry the people we care about around with us in the way they've changed who we are. My partner has a habit of picking up words and phrases from people she's close to, which is a nicely explicit demonstration.

But it's good to be reminded of truths like this once in a while.

I thought you should know that I am planning to break the death rule. I won't be dying. I will become science fiction (or fantasy, depending on how you look at it; actually, I'll become Scifi Strange!).

SMD: One of my favorite parts of Neil Gaiman's The Sandman is when Hob Gadling declares in front of a group of men that he's not going to die. The Sandman tells Hob he must tell him what not dying is like, so let's meet in 100 years. Everyone laughs at Hob b/c they think this is a joke, but the true joke is that in 100 year he and the Sandman meet.

So in 100 years you must tell me about it. If I'm not there to be told off, well, what can I say. :-)
