Very nice. I believe the illustration art for your story was done by Victor Bazanov.

How did you submit your story? Douglas Smith's Foreign Market List [http://www.smithwriter.com/foreign_market_list.htm#Russia] says, "[As of] Nov 2008: no longer open to submissions from non-Russian writers."

I didn't submit to ESLI; their editor approached me about reprinting the story in Russian. Obviously being published in Analog or Asimov's isn't the only route to ESLI since my story was first published in Interzone (and then reprinted in Year's Best SF 14). So while I love Douglas Smith's foreign market list, that one entry isn't totally accurate.

That said, I have no idea if this was a major change on the part of ESLI's editor, or merely the exception which proves the rule. You'd have to ask him. I only included this post on ESLI so people outside Russia would have more information on this great magazine.

I would call them a reprint market since the issue I looked at contained 4 translations of English SF stories. They may not accept unsolicited submissions, but obviously they are reprinting a lot of stories from these shores.
